Step 1. Open a browser window (Preferably Google Chrome) and type in the URL bar

Step 2. Enter your login information. If you are a student your login username will be your first name and last name (lowercased) with a period  in between. For example : John Doe’s username would be [email protected]. After entering your login, Click next.




Step 3:  You will next be asked to sign in again. This will be your sign in to Microsoft issued through Coker.  Your sign in for this page will be your full email address. For students, it would be [email protected]  




Step 4:

 You will now be prompted to enter your password. This is the same password used to access your Coker University Email. Your default password follows this format: First 4 letters of your last name (First letter capitalized) + your full birthdate (MMDDYYYY). 

For example: if your name is John Doe and your birthdate is February 15, 1996, your password would be 

Doe*02151996 (A * is added if your last name has fewer than 4 characters).





Step 5: 

You will now be asked to provide more information to keep your account secure. Click Next





Step 6: You will now be requested to download the Microsoft Authenticator App. You can download this app from either the IOS App Store (Apple Devices) or Google Store (Android devices). If you already have a different authentication app on your phone you can click the link that says “I want to use a different authenticator app”. Once it is downloaded, Click the next button.





Step 7: Now you will need to scan the QR code. If your device does not have a QR scanner by default, Please click the “Can’t Scan Image?” button. On the Authenticator App, Click the plus sign and select Scan QR code. After Scanning, click the Next button.



Step 8: You will now receive a test login code. On your device, make sure you are in the authenticator app and type in the number provided. After you enter the code, click next.






Step 9: After a successful test of the authentication app, you will receive the screen below with a green checkmark showing the notification was approved. Click next.





Step 10: Now you will be asked to enter secondary information to get back into your account incase the Authenticator app is not working. Your phone number will be requested, but it may also ask you to enter a different email account or security questions. Follow the on screen instructions to proceed. Lets go ahead and add our phone number and click next.




Step 11: After entering your phone number and completing the verification test, You will receive the screen below with a green check mark confirming your phone number was successfully verified. Click next.




Step 12:  Choose to stay signed in or Not. If you are using a personal device that only you use, it is advised to choose yes. Otherwise choose no if you are temporarily using the device to sign in. 


*If you are navigated back to Step 3(Username Login), please follow the steps again to get back to this stay signed in screen.*




Congrats! You should now be logged into your Coker Gmail account. You will use this account to email your professors and fellow students, View Cobra Announcements, and much more. Way to go Cobras!
